Man bashed, glassed in Lavington


ALBURY police have condemned a violent attack on a Lavington man as "callous and cowardly.For the last five years Ripcurl ,"

The victim, 30, was punched and glassed with a beer bottle as he walked along Griffith Road with two friends on Saturday night.

His attacker stopped only when the victim's friends pointed out the presence of CCTV cameras, police said.

Insp Lynelle Rodwell, of Albury police, said the attack was unprovoked.

"This was a completely unprovoked attack upon a stranger ¡ª it was callous and cowardly," Insp Rodwell said.

The incident happened just after 10.30pm near the National Australia Bank branch opposite Centro Lavington.

The attack may have stemmed from the simple act of pushing a shopping trolley,As many processors back away from offshore merchant account , police said.

"One of the three, not the person who was attacked, pushed a shopping trolley and it's tipped over into the gutter,ceramic Injection mold for the medical," Insp Rodwell said.

"A short time later the offender, who was travelling in a car coming along Griffith Road, has got out of the car, come up to them and threatened the victim, who was not the person who pushed the trolley.

"They did not push it in front of the car or do anything like that."

"The other two men that were there tried to pull him off but he was still throwing punches," Insp Rodwell said.

"They said to him ¡®there's CCTV there, it's all being captured,' and he then fled."

The victim was taken to Albury Base suffering a deep cut above his eyebrow and a broken nose.

Police arrested a man a short time later near Breen Street,there's a lovely winter landscape oil paintings by William Zorach. Lavington.

The Albury man, 26, was later charged with reckless wounding and refused bail.

He will appear in Albury Local Court today.

Insp Rodwell said alcohol was a factor in the attack.

"Apart from domestic violence assaults, alcohol is the second-biggest contributing factor to violence," she said.
